Wolves captain Conor Coady insists the FA Cup semi-final loss to Watford did not effect their performance against Southampton on Saturday.
The Midlands club were lacklustre as Saints recorded a valuable 3-1 victory at St. Mary's.
But Coady refused to blame the loss against Watford as a catalyst for the result.
"We've prepared right and I can promise you it had nothing to do with last week," Coady said.
"We had a job to do at Southampton and we've not done it, it's as simple as that.
"Monday and Tuesday (after Wembley) was tough, it was quiet, but we got back on it.
"We're just as disappointed with this defeat as we were then.
"It had nothing to do with what happened last week. It was horrible then and this week's exactly the same."
