Wolves academy goalkeeper Joe O'Shaughnessy has signed pro terms.

The 17-year-old stopper, who has been involved with the England youth camps throughout his young career, will now be aiming to take his chance after confirming his future at the club.

One of four under-18 stoppers currently at Wolves, head coach Steve Davis is pleased the club have agreed a pro deal with O'Shaughnessy, but hopes the keeper uses the new contract to further enhance his development.

“Joe's been working really hard on his game," Davis said. “He's also been doing extra sessions in the evenings, which I think has really benefitted him and improved him.

“He's got the physique, he's got the size, his distribution is really good, but he's still got a long way to go. He needs to add the speed that he moves and that general goalkeeping technical aspect to his game.

“Joe plays in our under-17 fixtures on a regular basis, so is getting game time to test him and see where he develops. We've got a team of four goalkeepers, and they're all pushing each other to be better, which is really helping their development, but needs to use that to push himself to get in front of the others."
