Wolfsburg chief Schaefer: Hinds a bad situation for everyone

VfL Wolfsburg attacker Kaylen Hinds remains in England.

The former Arsenal prospect has missed the entire Bundesliga preseason, citing a lost passport for his situation.

VfL management are unimpressed and it was confirmed last week that Hinds would be fined and given a written warning for his actions.

Now Wolfsburg sports chief Marcel Schaefer has had his say on the situation.

"It seems a bit more difficult if you lost the passport or if it was reported as stolen," he told Kicker. "It is no secret that it does not take so long to apply for a passport. There are other ways and possibilities. It may also be that there is a lot of bad luck in the matter.

"It's a bad situation for everyone involved.

"If he is here, we will sit down in detail and analyse what went wrong there. But it is clear that something went wrong, and you cannot do that. It is also clear that we cannot simply accept such a thing."
