Recordings of agent Jorge Mendes before he moved Joao Felix from Benfica to Atletico Madrid have emerged.
Wiretaps from the local Public Ministry in the framework of 'Operation Red Card' show Mendes in conversation with Bruno Maruta, director of youth football at Benfica.
Mendes is quoted saying: "(Benfica president Luiz Felipe) Vieira insisted that I have proposals of 120 million [for Félix] and I already have four. Now there is a problem because he can only go to one and there is one who gives 120 million and he stays one more year, which is what he wants to do."
The four offers were from Atletico, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Mendes also stated: "The best thing for João Félix would be Manchester City for (Pep) Guardiola. He will be the most expensive signing in Portuguese football."
