Everton have kicked off talks with Tottenham for Harry Winks.

The midfielder is ready to leave Spurs this summer after finding himself on the outer of manager Antonio Conte's plans last season.

The Liverpool Echo says Everton boss Frank Lampard has identified the England international as a player who can bolster his midfield options heading into the new season. Midfield is an area that Lampard has long been keen to strengthen this summer.

Talks have now commenced as Everton seek to steal a march on rivals.

The midfielder made just 19 Premier League appearances for Spurs during the 2021/22 campaign, starting in just nine of those games. It's understood he favours a move to Merseyside to work with Lampard.
