Wilson intent on breaking into Man Utd XI

James Wilson has revealed his plans to become a Manchester United regular this season.

The 19-year-old striker undoubtedly has a massive amount of talent but has been restricted by injury of late which denied him the chance to prove himself to Louis van Gaal last season.

Ahead of the new Premier League season, Wilson says he plans to keep himself as fit as he possibly can in order to take any opportunity that comes his way both both hands.

“I just need to keep training hard. You hear everyone say it. If you want it really bad, you've got to train for it," said the young gun.

“You've just got to train hard, get fit and stay injury free really. For me, that's probably one of the big things because I've had little injuries here and there. I'd say staying fit is the big one for me."

Wilson featured in United's pre-season tour of the USA, which included a 3-1 win over European champions Barcelona, and admits it was an experience that will help prepare him for the upcoming campaign and beyond.

"The tour has been an unbelievable experience for me," he added. “I expressed myself to the manager.

“He knows what I'm capable of and I just needed to show that. I've gone out there and done what I could."
