Bournemouth midfielder Jack Wilshere says teammate Harry Arter has top four quality.

Wilshere, who has shared midfields with superstars Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Cesc Fabregas and Mesut Ozil, ranks Arter, a £4,000 signing from Woking, as one of the best in the business.

He raved: “He is definitely up there with the best I have played with.

“I have played with some top midfielders but it says a lot about a player when you are not at a big club like Arsenal and you are putting in performances like that.

“You can really feel his hunger and his passion for this team. He has been here ever since League One and you can see this team has got to him. The way he acts around the dressing room is great as well.

“Could he play for a top four club? Of course.

“Last week against City he was our best player and his passion and hunger for this club you can see he has a special bond with them.

“If he wants to I'm sure he could go onto bigger clubs but I'm sure he is enjoying his time at Bournemouth, the fans love him, the manager loves him and he's got everyone's respect at the club.

“He is going to be a good player for us this season and important for us if we want to climb up the table."
