Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock says that his side can maintain their outstanding Premier League form.

The Magpies find themselves in third place in the league table with the club season on break due to the World Cup.

While there is still a long stretch of the campaign to go, Willock is hoping they can sustain the form that has seen them emerge as a serious contender for a Champions League spot.

He stated in an interview, per Chronicle Live: "You just have to take confidence from that. But it's still early in the season, we are buying into the process rather than looking at the table.

"We're happy we are third but looking on to the next games. I feel the focus should be where the club are going in the future, we can go where we want to if we buy into the process that the manager has set out for us.

"We're all looking forward to the future but at the present moment we are doing well and want to continue doing well."
