Willock insists Arsenal players embracing pressure for playing time

Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock believes the team is embracing pressure in the best possible way.

The Gunners have made a good start to the season, and they continued their winning ways against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup.

Arsenal are now through to the fourth round, and Willock got his first appearance of the season in the game.

Asked about the mood at the club, Willock told the club website: "Yeah, we're all bubbly and trying to work hard to keep pushing each other.

"We're trying to make the manager question who he should put in. We want to compete in training every day and in matches like today.

"We're all fighting for our place to start and that puts all of us under pressure, it's good pressure."

Asked if the result showed their progress, he said: "We're not at the point where we want to be, but I feel like we've come so far over the last six to 12 months.

"I feel like we're still progressing and learning from the manager and trying to buy into the principles that the manager has put in place."
