Willian's future at Chelsea is looking uncertain as the club will reportedly stick with their current contract policy.
The Blues will only offer a one-year contract to players aged over 30.
The policy saw Cesc Fabregas fail to negotiate an extension and he was subsequently sold to Monaco last month, who offered him a contract until 2020.
Contract negotiations have begun with Willian, however, the London Evening Standard reports Chelsea are only willing to offer a one-year deal.
The Brazilian has 18 months left on his current contract and wants an extension until 2023.
Unless Chelsea change their tune, the 30-year-old could leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Willian has been pursued by a number of clubs over the past two seasons, namely Manchester United and Barcelona.
