William Kvist confident Fulham will climb table

William Kvist insists Fulham aren't doomed to relegation.

The midfielder only arrived last week from Stuttgart.

After defeat to Southampton, Kvist told the club's official website: "I thought we played well in the first half on Saturday and had some good chances.

"But when you're down at the bottom it's often the story that you don't get that bit of luck you need. If we'd gone 1-0 up I'm confident we would have won the game.

"We'd been defending well but when Southampton went in front it was difficult for us to get back in the game. It's disappointing but we have 14 games left and I'm still quite sure that this is a very good team and over the coming weeks we'll train together and try and pick up a lot of points.

"It's very close down there but we just have to focus on ourselves, that's the most important thing. If we can score some goals and defend well, no matter who we're playing, then we'll get points."
