Wigan Athletic are on the trail of Valladolid striker Alberto Bueno.

Latics boss Roberto Martinez is hoping to bring his fellow Spaniard to DW Stadium and beat off competition from Derby County who have shown plenty of interest.

Martinez believes Bueno would be a great bargain basement catch and is hoping to complete a deal for him in January so he can boost his attacking stocks.
