Wigan Athletic are a step closer to landing Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton.
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed "one or two players" have yet to agree new contracts with the club.
Britton, wanted by Wigan boss Roberto Martinez as a replacement for Paul Scharner, has failed to agree his new deal and it has been reported Spanish pair Angel Rangel and Andrea Orlandi, both out of contract in the summer, have stalled over their offers.
Jenkins told the Evening Post: "There are one or two players within the squad who, for whatever reason, are looking to keep their options open.
"They are not accepting the terms that are on offer at this stage and, as a football club, we just have to accept that they are within their rights to do that."
