Wigan season ticket prices remain static for third year

Wigan Chairman Dave Whelan has announced that adult season ticket prices at the newly-named DW Stadium are to be frozen at £250 for the third year running. Whelan is keen to bolster Athletic's fan base, telling the Manchester Evening News: "We have a wonderful band of extremely loyal supporters but I am again appealing to the people of Wigan to really get behind this club.

"The season ticket prices provide a fantastic offer. Manager Steve Bruce has taken us to a new level this season, as I was confident he would, and to be able to look forward to next season with two months left of this season is an incredible achievement.

"I really do want the people of Wigan to continue getting behind their team. In these difficult times, everyone is feeling the pinch. I am delighted that we can present these fantastic prices for our fans and continue to deliver what I believe to be the best value football in the Barclays Premier League."

Bruce has paid tribute to the Wigan fans for their support this season.

He said: "They have been terrific home and away and when this place gets going, the atmosphere is as good as anywhere. I think it's fantastic that we are able to start planning for next year. "
