Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has put a new striker at the top of his shopping list for January. The Latics have been left short up front with just Hugo Rodallega and Jason Scotland as central striking options following the prison sentence imposed on Marlon King.
He said: "We are light up front as we have lost Marlon King, which was unexpected.
"That is something we will have to look at and do something in the next window.
"We need to strengthen as we have lost a player and cannot leave ourselves open.
"We know our budget, the money we have to spend. But it is not just about that.
"It is about finding the right players and personalities. We will work on different markets to try and make things happen."
