Wigan are set to win the race for sought-after Hamilton midfielder James McArthur, claims skysports.com. Hamilton are resigned to losing the highly-rated schemer with a number of clubs chasing the Scotland Under 21 international.

West Brom, Rangers and Leeds have all been credited with an interest in McArthur, but the Latics have been leading the chase for the Scot for some time.

Boss Roberto Martinez is a big admirer of McArthur and is hopeful of tying up a deal for the player as early as next week.
