Wigan Athletic are facing a big battle to land Santos Laguna striker Cristian Benitez.

The People says the Latics want to agree a fee of £7m for the Ecuador striker, but now Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven have entered the fray.

Bruce went to see Benitez in World Cup action last week and met with Santos officials - along with general manager John Benson.

PSV already have Benitez's team-mate Edison Mendez in their ranks and also sent a two-man delegation to South America.
