Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is planning to discuss Ben Watson's future at the start of January. The 24-year-old midfielder was sent out on a four-month loan to Queens Park Rangers at the start of the season as summer arrival Martinez did not believe he was set to feature in his first team.
Martinez has revealed that other clubs have shown an interest in the former Crystal Palace player, who only joined Wigan last January, and so there are choices to consider.
"We're going to speak with Ben as soon as his loan finishes and we'll decide how he feels about the whole situation," Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post.
"We had a few other clubs that approached us with the idea of having Ben.
"The most important thing is to see how he has developed since he has been at QPR and we'll make a decision then."
