Wigan demise a warning to Hull - Bruce

Hull City boss Steve Bruce believes that the demise of clubs such as Wigan Athletic and Blackpool from the Premier League to League One in such a short spell of time is a warning to all the other clubs.

Bruce believes the situation can be precarious especially for a club like the Tigers who do not necessarily have the resources to get themselves out of trouble as bigger clubs do.

"When you look at League One there are plenty of clubs who have been in the Premier League - Swindon, Barnsley, Oldham," said Bruce.

"That shows you how difficult it is. I've got great affinity for Wigan and it disappoints me that they've slipped out of it. They were in the FA Cup final two years ago.

"It's a warning about what can happen. We are Hull, let's not forget that."

After two consecutive wins against Crystal Place and Liverpool, Hull currently sit two points clear of the relegation zone.
