Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan wants Bolton Wanderers to drop their asking price for Ali Al Habsi.
The Latics have had a second offer for Al Habsi knocked back - as Bolton hold out for £5m.
Latics chairman Dave Whelan told the Wigan Evening Post last week that they will not be held to ransom in the transfer market.
He said: "We won't pay stupid money for Ali, or anyone else for that matter."
