Wigan chairman Whelan expects Martinez to bring Swansea staff

Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan expects Roberto Martinez to bring with him his own staff from Swansea City.

Former Latics boss Steve Bruce was joined at Sunderland by Eric Black, Nigel Spink and Keith Bertschin this week.

Whelan said: "The priority at Wigan is always the same, you've got to stay in the Premier League. We, along with 10 or 11 other teams, our number one priority is to stay in the league and that is exactly what I will tell Roberto.

"Steve has taken quite a lot of our staff with him, which they always do, we understand that.

"I expect Roberto will be bringing two, three or four of his staff with him, but that will all be agreed by tomorrow evening."
