Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has no regrets turning down Aston Villa.

He insists he has no regrets about turning down a summer offer to join Aston Villa and rejects the notion that nice guys can't be winners.

"You do not last in ­management if you are not demanding," he said. "But I don't ­manage by punishing ­people or a blame culture. I manage by ­aspiration.

"I was loyal to Wigan in the summer and I'll give my life for this club. All of us are here to carry on the dream. The results will come, I have no doubt."
