Wigan Athletic boss Owen Coyle says there's been no offers for James McCarthy.
McCarthy is understood to be a target for Everton, Newcastle United and Sunderland.
Coyle said: "The interest at the moment has only come from media. I am comfortable sitting here and saying we have had no inquiries or offers which may change with the nature of the transfer window and if it does we will deal with it.
"We have always been a club and won't ever stand in players' way and nothing will change in that respect. If something comes in we will take it on its merits but as it stands we have had no inquiries and long may that continue."
