Wigan assure Martinez Diame, McCarthy will stay

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has been assured he can keep his best players.

The Mirror says Martinez has been told Wigan's stars will not be sacrificed after he rejected the chance to manage Aston Villa.

The boss was worried Wigan couldn't keep hold of the likes of Mohamed Diame and James McCarthy.

But even though Charles N'Zogbia and Hugo Rodallega may leave, Martinez will be given £4million to buy keeper Ali Al Habsi from Bolton after his loan spell at the DW.
