Wife of Chelsea defender Thiago Silva: We're happy in London, but Paris...

The wife of Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has spoken of their departure from Paris and PSG over the summer.

After coming off contract at PSG following the Champions League final defeat to Bayern Munich, Thiago Silva decided to leave the French giants for Chelsea - his first experience in English football.

The move has also meant uprooting his family from Paris, where they had been living since 2012. But the switch has been smooth, with Thiago Silva settling quickly on the pitch and the family also adjusting quickly off it.

Indeed, wife Isabelle Silva has declared the family has been able to easily adapt to life in London.

Speaking to Goal via Le 10 Sport, Isabelle said: "I'm really happy to be in London. It is a beautiful city that I hope to discover even more. But Paris is Paris. It is special. We are French so Paris will always be in our heart.

"Still contacts between Thiago and the PSG players? Yes, because they play together in the national team so it's easier. But he still has contacts with others too, like Marco Verratti or Ángel Di María. They played a lot of time together, so they kept in touch.

"Souvenirs from Paris? I have a lot of good memories since Thiago had his main titles there. It's hard to pick just one, but making it to the Champions League final was something. We didn't win, but it was very special for us."

Over his eight years with the Parisians, Thiago Silva won seven Ligue 1 titles, was a five-time Coupe de France winner and a six-time Coupe de la Ligue winner. So far this season, the 36 year-old has managed eight appearances for Chelsea and has scored once.
