Why Broja started ahead of Sterling for Chelsea win

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino admits he was forced into starting Armando Broja against Fulham due to Raheem Sterling suffering from a virus.

Broja ended up scoring in the first-half as Chelsea won 2-0 on Monday night.

Pochettino said before kickoff: "Raheem Sterling didn't train in the last three days because of a virus.

"That is why we play with Armando. He's ready.

"Maybe we don't know if he can play 90 minutes. Hopefully he can deal with the competition after a long period [out]."
