Wheater hopes Bolton can re-sign Chelsea striker Sturridge

Bolton Wanderers defender David Wheater hopes they can attract Chelsea striker Danny Sturridge back for another spell.

Sturridge is mulling over his future at Stamford Bridge under new boss Andre Villas-Boas, and is likely to come under increased competition for a place next season with the impending arrival of £26million Radamel Falcao.

"He's a great player and you can see that from some of the goals he has scored for us," Wheater told the Bolton News. "He always seems to be in the right position.

"In training he's so quick and powerful you just can't get near him. It's scary. You can see when he gets the ball that he only has one thing in his mind, score goals and get at defenders, so it's very difficult to handle him."
