‘What a night!': Euro delight for Derby defender Keogh

Derby County defender Richard Keogh was elated after helping the Republic of Ireland achieve qualification to Euro2016 at the Aviva Stadium on Monday night.

Keogh and his Irish teammates defeated Bosnia & Herzegovina 2-0 in Dublin to win the qualification tie 3-1 on aggregate, booking their spot in the UEFA tournament proper in France next summer.

"It's an unbelievable feeling, what a night, just look at the atmosphere now," Keogh said on Sky Sports.

"We played really well, we got the goal and then we defended really well. They tried to throw everything at us and we stood up to it, that's what you've got to do in big games like this.

"To play for my country means the world for me and I've had to be patient as well, there's a lot of good players in my position but through good form for my club and a bit of luck I've stepped up to the plate. I'm going to enjoy it for sure."
