Michail Antonio has reportedly turned down advances from the Jamaican national team.
The West Ham United winger has been in fine form in the Premier League in 2016 with his continually improving showings under Slaven Bilic alerting the Reggae Boyz.
Ex-Nottingham Forest star Antonio, who formerly played non-league football, is eligible to represent Jamaica but says the examples set by fellow former lower league aces Dele Alli and Jamie Vardy have given him hope that he can one day force his way into the England squad.
"Jamaica called but if I keep doing what I'm doing hopefully I can get an England call," he told BBC Sport.
"You can see it with Dele Alli, he's come from League One and he's already in the England squad.
"You see it with Vardy. Hopefully I can get the call-up as well."
