West Ham want Real Madrid to help open Olympic stadium

West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan wants to open their Olympic stadium tenancy with a glamour clash against Real Madrid.

The People says the Hammers expect to move in for the 2014-15 season, and intend to mark the switch across London with a prestigious pre-season opener.

They will look into exact details once the 2012 Olympic Games are over - but provisional prospects include flying one of La Liga's top sides over to kick off with a bang.

Owner David Sullivan told Confidential: "It will be special whoever we play, but we might try to bring in Barcelona or Real Madrid."
