West Ham United will meet Celta Vigo's release clause for Maxi Gomez, according to reports.
Sky Sports says the two clubs are now discussing the method of payment for the £44.85m fee.
According to La Liga rules, West Ham will have to pay the release clause in full at the competition's headquarters in Madrid.
The Hammers are expected to receive a cash injection following the sale of Marko Arnautovic to Shanghai SIPG for £22.4m.
Valencia had previously struck a deal for the Uruguayan striker, only for Gomez to announce his desire to join West Ham.
