West Ham to take part in testimonial for Cambridge captain Taylor

West Ham United will head to EFL League One side Cambridge United for a mid-season friendly match on Tuesday 6 December.

David Moyes will take his team to the Abbey Stadium for the 7pm kick-off – a Testimonial for long-serving U's captain and Hammers fan Greg Taylor.

The trip to Cambridge promises to give the Hammers a strong test two weeks before the 2022/23 Premier League campaign resumes following the break for the FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar.

West Ham last faced Cambridge in competitive action in May 1993, when a 2-0 First Division victory at the Boleyn Ground famously secured promotion to the Premier League.

32-year-old Cambridge defender Taylor has been at the Abbey Stadium since a summer 2013 transfer from Luton Town and has gone on to make in excess of 350 appearances for the club.
