West Ham United are plotting a surprise double bid to land Aaron Lennon and Charlie Austin.
Hammer's boss Slaven Bilic has earmarked winger Lennon as a potential replacement for Stewart Downing, who recently returned to former club Middlesbrough.
However, the Claret and Blues face an uphill battle to secure Lennon from Tottenham, as the north Londoners are hoping to include him in a deal for Everton midfielder James McCarthy.
If Lennon does indeed join the Toffees, it may pave the way for West Ham to move for Greek international Kevin Mirallas, whose future at Goodison Park remains uncertain.
Bilic is also planning to move for QPR striker Austin, following news that Andy Carroll has been ruled out until October with an injury.
West Ham, however, are reluctant to pay the £15million fee that QPR want for Austin and could instead turn to Mexican striker Javier Hernandez who continues to be linked with a move away from Manchester United.
