Slaven Bilic says West Ham United will go up against the red card received by Cheikhou Kouyate on Sunday.
The Senegalese midfielder was shown a straight red for a challenge on Blackburn Rovers left-back Adam Henley in the 75th minute of his side'd 5-1 FA Cup fifth round win at Ewood Park on Sunday.
Referee Jonathan Moss felt Kouyate had denied Henley a goalscoring opportunity with his challenge as the last defensive player on the line but Bilic believes it was a harsh call and has revealed that the East London will indeed appeal the three-match ban.
"I haven't seen the replay, but from my position I am not happy with that," he said.
"I know the ball went to Randy (Darren Randolph) our keeper so it is definitely not a goalscoring opportunity.
"A foul okay, but not a red card so we are going to appeal and I think we have a really strong case."
Kouyate is due to miss the three upcoming Premier League fixtures against Sunderland, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton but Bilic hopes the 26-year-old gets off as West Ham look towards a top-five finish in the Premier League.
