Benitez and out-of-work Marco Silva are West Ham's top choices to succeed the Scot.

Benitez was hours from joining West Ham in the summer of 2015 after verbally agreeing to join, only for Real Madrid to come in for him at the last moment. He is known to retain a good relationship with officials at West Ham.
