West Ham United striker Danny Ings admits he wasn't planning to leave Aston Villa in January.
Indeed, Ings says Villa boss Unai Emery was reluctant to see him go.
He told the Daily Mail: "I wasn't expecting to leave in the window, to be honest. I had some good conversations with Unai Emery. We both agreed I would stay and help the team until the end of the season.
"He didn't want me to leave.
"Then I had a call from my agent, who said West Ham had come up. I then had to have another honest conversation with Unai and he was brilliant."
