West Ham striker Andy Carroll has undergone a new ankle operation.
The Daily Mail says he underwent an original surgery at the start of April, a procedure that effectively ended his Hammers career, with his current deal due to expire at the end of the season.
But Carroll has now gone under the knife for a second time in a bid to cure his long standing ankle problem.
The 30-year-old is said to be recovering well from the operation, which took place earlier this month, but there are growing fears Carroll will not be fit until after the start of next season.
The latest surgery is understood to be a planned procedure linked to the original operation.
