West Ham set to make move for Juventus striker Zaza

West Ham United are set to make a move for unsettled Juventus striker Simone Zara.

The Hammers are left with no fit first-team strikers after Diafra Sakho suffered a groin injury against Bournemouth, forcing the East London club to move quickly for reinforcements.

Slaven Bilic's side make a trip to Anfield to on Saturday and desperately want to complete the deal for Zara before the game.

West Ham's other strike option Mauro Zarate is out for several weeks with a hamstring strain, while signing Andy Carroll is yet to make an appearance since having knee surgery in February and Enner Valencia is ruled out until October.

It is believed the Hammers want to sign 24-year-old Zaza on a season-long loan deal, with a view to a £11.5million permanent transfer next summer.
