West Ham's new venue could be named Westfield Stadium

Shopping giant Westfield are reportedly in discussions with West Ham United regarding the naming rights of the Olympic Stadium venue.

The Hammers are set to leave Upton Park to move into the Stratford venue for the start of the 2014/15 season and it could be the Westfield Stadium that take up residence in.

Talks are only informal at this stage but the London Evening Standard suggests that a possible £20million naming rights deal could help pay for the conversion of an Olympics athletic stadium into one solely for football.

A decision is still a long way off but at this early stage Westfield is the only big name being bandied around and the fact that the Hammers employed them as the professional advisor for the planning, design and construction elements of their bid for the stadium indicates that a partnership could be on the cards.
