West Ham ready to welcome back Man Utd midfielder Jesse Lingard

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard is in talks about a return to West Ham United.

The 29-year-old is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer and set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season after more than 20 years with the club.

The Daily Mail says West Ham and manager David Moyes are keen to bring Lingard back to the club on a free transfer following his successful loan spell last season.

Lingard scored nine goals in 16 appearances to fire West Ham to fifth place in the Premier League and earn an England recall.

The Hammers had wanted to make the move permanent last summer but Lingard instead remained at United, with a January move to Newcastle United also failing to materialise.

Lingard has struggled for regular game time at United again this season, starting just four matches across all competitions under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.
