West Ham ready to pounce for Worrall if Nottingham Forest lose play-off

West Ham United are pushing to sign Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall.

The Hammers are eager to add a quality centre-back to their squad ahead of next season, given the injury crisis they faced in the position this past campaign.

According to Evening Standard, Worrall is a standout player for Forest and the club would loathe to lose him.

However, if they are unable to win promotion after Saturday's Championship play-off final at Wembley, they may have no option but to cash in on their prized asset.

Worrall is one of the key reasons for the club's remarkable turnaround this season since the hiring of Steve Cooper after the first eight games of the campaign.

Worrall has been with Forest since he was a teenager.
