West Ham not giving up on Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley

West Ham remain in the hunt for Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley.

The Mirror says Hammers boss David Moyes has not given up on Barkley as he bids to add quality to his squad before the window closes.

It is understood the Hammers boss made an enquiry about taking Barkley on loan before the transfer window opened but was told Chelsea would not be letting him leave in January.

But with Barkley struggling for game time, Moyes is clinging onto the hope that the 26-year-old will try to pursue an opportunity for regular first-team football, especially if he wants to make England's Euro2020 squad.

The Scot refused to speak about Barkley or his situation out of respect for Chelsea. He said: “The one thing I will never do is talk about players at other clubs, not to upset other managers and it's wrong to do so."
