West Ham have moved for departing Nice striker Mario Balotelli.

Gazzetta dello Sport says West Ham have come forward with a determined bid to sign the 28-year-old.

Overtures from England are more attractive for Super Mario, not purely from a financial perspective, it's suggested.

Balotelli's contract with Nice expires in June but the club are uneasy about letting the mercurial talent leave for free.

Olympique Marseille are also interested in Balotelli this month.
