West Ham manager Moyes happy to wait for new contract talks

West Ham manager David Moyes doesn't expect his new contract to be sorted until after the end of the season.

Moyes' present deal expires in the summer and after the improvement his side has made this term, an extension is viewed as automatic.

However, with key Premier League games against West Brom and Southampton still to play, he is keen not to allow the talks to get in the way of West Ham's attempts to secure European qualification.

“I hope something will be confirmed with my contract but it will probably be after the end of the season now," he said.

Given the goal difference situation, victory at West Brom on Wednesday will virtually seal a place in the new European Conference League at a minimum next term.

And whilst Moyes says that should only be the start of a general improvement at the London Stadium he feels the achievement would be 'worthy of a beer'.
