West Ham are moving for West Brom striker Salomon Rondon.
The Daily Star says West Ham's opening bid of £10million plus two players for Rondon has been rejected by West Brom.
The uncertainty at Newcastle, who confirmed on Monday that Rafa Benitez will leave his role as manager this month, has handed the Hammers the advantage in the race to sign the striker.
It is claimed that the Hammers offered the Baggies £10m for Rondon plus two out-of-favour players - understood to be Sam Byram and Jordan Hugill.
West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini is keen to reunite with the Venezuela international, the pair having worked together previously at Spanish club Malaga.
