West Ham legend Peters backing top four finish

West Ham United legend Martin Peters is convinced they'll finish in the top four this season.

World Cup winner Peters, now 71, insists this current West Ham side can continue their sensational start to this campaign and qualify for the Champions League for the first time.

"They have been great this season," said Peters. "Sam Allardyce has done well - he has bought some really good new players and done really well. They are doing the right things and are winning.

"They are really good to watch and knocking the ball around nicely. I enjoy watching them win.

"I can see them carrying on and finishing in the top four if they continue the way they are playing and scoring the goals.

"They are playing the team bottom of the league next so I just hope they don't take it for granted and think they are going to win easily.

"Over Christmas, they have got Arsenal and Chelsea, so they have got some tough games coming up, and they will tell us a lot, but they deserve to be fourth.

"Playing Champions League in the last season at Upton Park would be a great way to say goodbye to it."
