West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian counted his lucky stars after escaping series injury on Monday night.
The Spaniard was cut down by a horror tackle by Chelsea's Diego Costa as the Hammers opened the 2016/17 Premier League season with a 2-1 loss at Stamford Bridge.
Costa's challenge on Adrian went largely unpunished by referee Anthony Taylor, who only awarded a free-kick to West Ham, which prompted the gloveman to post on Twitter and Instagram a picture of the tackle accompanied by the hashtag #fairplay.
Adrian wrote: "Disappointed about last night!! Thank God my leg is okay after that, could have been much worse #fairplay."
