West Ham given deadline to explain pitch invasion

The Football Association has provided West Ham United until the end of the week to explain what happened at the London Stadium during their clash with Burnley.

The game was a 3-0 defeat for West Ham, but the issues in the crowd were a much bigger talking point.

There was an incident where a West Ham fan got onto the pitch, and got into a confrontation with captain Mark Noble.

West Ham are attempting to suggest they are not responsible for the stewarding at the stadium, but that is not going to be a creditable defense with the FA. West Ham are responsible for how their fans behave, and some punishment is a near certainty.

Anything from playing behind closed doors to lifetime bans for supporters is on the table.
