West Ham defender Winston Reid taken to hospital

West Ham defender Winston Reid was taken to hospital after suffering a major knee injury in defeat at Swansea City.

The New Zealand international picked an injury to his right leg during a goal-mouth scramble in the 18 minute at the Liberty Stadium.

The 29-year-old's whole body collapsed onto his leg with his knee buckling underneath him before Declan Rice cleared Federico Fernandez's strike off the line and away for a Swans corner.

Play was suspended for six minutes.

Reid was visibly in a lot of pain as he was attended to by medical staff.

He was eventually carried off on a stretcher, and he was also placed in a neck brace and supplied with oxygen.
