West Ham United defender George McCartney is convinced fans will love their new Olympic stadium.

The Hammers will move from Upton Park, their home for over 100 years, to the 54,000-capacity Olympic Stadium for the 2016-17 season.

"I'm sure the older fans will probably be a bit sad to leave Upton Park, what with the history and everything that goes with it," he said. "But I'm sure when they come and see a stadium like this, they'll be more than happy to turn out every Saturday and hopefully watch exciting football.

"To be part of a club like West Ham, to have such a great stadium behind them and to be able to look to the future, hopefully it will be great for everyone involved."
